Ukrainian drones hit air defence position near Putin's palace
Ukrainian drones struck an air defence complex position near Russian President Vladimir Putin's palace on the Black Sea coast in Gelendzhik overnight into Sunday, according to Ukraine's drone forces commander Robert Brovdi.
Overnight into Sunday, Ukrainian drones carried out a strike in the Gelendzhik area on Russia's Black Sea coast, where one of Vladimir Putin's residences is located. Robert Brovdi, commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces, reported on Telegram that the drones hit the position of an air defence complex near the dictator's palace.
Brovdi shared the news without further details on the consequences of the strike or any possible damage. Gelendzhik, located in Russia's Krasnodar region, has for several years been associated with a lavish residence belonging to Putin, often referred to as "Putin's palace."
Ukraine has increasingly relied on drone strikes against military and infrastructure targets on Russian territory, including in regions far from the front line. Such attacks frequently target air defence systems, fuel and ammunition depots, and other strategically significant sites.
An official Russian response to the incident has not yet been made available.
