Ukrainian drones kill two in Russia's Lipetsk region, Wildberries warehouse hit again in Tambov region
A Ukrainian drone strike on a home in Russia's Lipetsk region killed two people, while another attack set fire to a Wildberries warehouse in Tambov region that had already been targeted before.
Ukrainian drones struck a private home in the Lipetsk district of Russia overnight on August 26, sparking a fire that killed two people, according to Lipetsk Governor Igor Artamonov. The victims were a man and a 14-year-old teenager, while two women were injured and taken to hospital.
The same night, drones also hit a Wildberries warehouse in the town of Kotovsk in the Tambov region. Regional Governor Yevgeny Pervyshov said the resulting fire spread across more than 100,000 square meters. Staff were evacuated and one person was injured.
RWB, the company operating the facility, confirmed the strike on its logistics site and said it had stopped accepting new shipments there. The Kotovsk warehouse was among the first Wildberries facilities struck when Ukraine began targeting such sites in mid-July.
Kotovsk Mayor Alexei Plakhotnikov asked residents to avoid unnecessary movement around the city for the next two days and to keep windows shut due to heavy smoke from the blaze.
Ukrainian monitoring channels reported that the same night's strikes also caused a fire at the Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez oil refinery in Kstovo, in the Nizhny Novgorod region, though regional officials have not confirmed this claim.
