Ukrainian Drone Strike Hits Russian Tax Service Data Centre in Nizhny Novgorod Region
Ukrainian forces struck the Russian Federal Tax Service's data processing centre in Gorodets overnight into Friday. A chemical plant in Perm Krai and a communications tower in occupied Luhansk were also hit.

Ukraine's military struck the data processing centre of Russia's Federal Tax Service (FNS) in Gorodets, in the Nizhny Novgorod region, overnight into Friday, 23 October, according to the Ukrainian Telegram channel Exilenova+ and the independent Russian outlet ASTRA. It is one of the service's two largest data centres, storing and processing state register data, including tax databases, so the attack could affect the work of Russian state information systems.
What the Russian side confirms
The head of the Gorodets district confirmed the air strike. Russian authorities say an infrastructure facility was damaged and report that three people were injured in the attack. Video published on social media is described in posts as showing the moment of impact on the data centre.
Other attacks overnight
The same night, the Azot branch of the company Uralchem in Berezniki, in Russia's Perm Krai, was also attacked. It is a large chemical complex with about 90 production buildings. Azot's main product is ammonium nitrate, an important component in making explosives.
A communications tower in Russian-occupied Luhansk was also attacked, and communications were lost in part of the city.
Russian figures on drones
Russia's Ministry of Defence claims that 443 Ukrainian drones were shot down overnight over more than 20 Russian regions and occupied Crimea. Russian authorities, as usual, do not say how many drones were not intercepted. Experts estimate that 10–15% of drones reach their targets.
