Six Killed as Ukrainian Drones Strike Russia and Crimea Overnight
Ukrainian drone attacks overnight into Monday killed at least six people in Russia's Belgorod and Perm regions and in annexed Crimea. Russia's Defense Ministry said it downed more than 300 drones nationwide.
A series of Ukrainian drone strikes hit Russian territory and annexed Crimea overnight into Monday, killing at least six people, local officials reported.
In the Belgorod region near the Ukrainian border, a drone struck a car, killing a man and a woman inside, according to the regional emergency headquarters. On Monday morning, officials in Belgorod also reported a separate drone strike in the border town of Grayvoron that killed a man.
In the Perm region, roughly 1,300 kilometers from Ukraine, a drone hit an apartment building, killing one person and injuring four others, Governor Dmitry Mahonin said. Unverified reports described smoke rising over an industrial area of Perm that hosts at least two defense-related facilities, including a gunpowder plant and a rocket engine manufacturing site.
In the Crimean port city of Sevastopol, annexed by Russia, an overnight strike killed a 15-year-old girl and a man. Kremlin-installed local authorities said shrapnel from the drones damaged windows in eight apartment buildings and a kindergarten.
Russia's Defense Ministry said it intercepted 306 Ukrainian drones across the country and occupied Crimea between Sunday evening and Monday morning.
