Ukrainian Drone Attack Sets Wildberries Sorting Hub Ablaze in Russia's Tula Region

Ukrainian drones hit a Wildberries sortation center in the Tula region in the early hours of Wednesday, leaving at least one person injured, according to the online retailer and local officials.

Tula Governor Dmitry Milyayev said more than 100 drones were intercepted over the region during the overnight barrage. He reported that a fire had broken out at the Wildberries facility and that emergency crews were responding to the scene.

Wildberries later confirmed the strike on its regional sortation center, saying employees had been evacuated and shipments would be redirected to other locations. Social media footage showed a large blaze and a column of smoke rising above the site.

Russia's Defense Ministry said it intercepted 475 Ukrainian drones across the country and annexed Crimea between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. Since mid-July, Ukraine has targeted nearly two dozen Wildberries logistics hubs, accusing the company of supplying the Russian military with drone components and other equipment. According to Forbes Russia, the attacks have wiped out a significant portion of the e-commerce giant's storage capacity and caused third-party merchants losses worth hundreds of billions of rubles.

Separately, emergency officials in Ukraine said Russian strikes near Kyiv killed at least fourteen people and injured more than two dozen others overnight, with warehouses also hit.
