Ukraine's Prosecutor General's Office denies state involvement in Nord Stream sabotage
Ukraine's Prosecutor General's Office says no facts indicate state involvement in the September 2022 Nord Stream pipeline sabotage.
Ukraine's Prosecutor General's Office has officially stated that there are no facts showing state involvement in the Nord Stream pipeline sabotage that occurred in September 2022. The statement comes four years after the explosions, as international investigations continue. The office emphasized that no evidence has been found linking the Ukrainian state to the blasts, which severely damaged the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines. This marks the first time Kyiv has categorically denied any involvement, after some Western media reports had previously suggested possible Ukrainian links. The prosecutor's office reiterated that the investigation remains ongoing but currently lacks any basis to accuse the state. Ukraine calls on the international community to avoid premature conclusions and to support a thorough and unbiased probe into the incident, which significantly impacted Europe's energy security.
