Ukraine's General Staff reports 208 combat clashes over the day, most in Pokrovsk direction

Ukraine's General Staff says 208 combat clashes occurred along the front over the day, with 27 recorded in the Pokrovsk direction. Russia also used hundreds of guided bombs and thousands of kamikaze drones.

Ukraine's Armed Forces General Staff, in a report compiled as of 22:00 on September 16, said 208 combat clashes had been recorded along the front since the start of the day.

According to the General Staff, Russian forces carried out 71 air strikes, dropping 233 guided aerial bombs. In addition, Russia used 4,704 kamikaze drones and conducted 1,250 shelling attacks targeting both populated areas and Ukrainian troop positions.

Clashes by direction

The General Staff also provided a breakdown of clashes by front-line sector. In the Novopskov-Sloboda (Pivnichno-Slobozhansky) and Kursk directions, two Russian assault actions were recorded since the start of the day, while in the Pivdenno-Slobozhansky direction there were 12.

The Kupyansk direction saw one clash, the Lyman direction six, the Sloviansk direction two, and the Kramatorsk direction two. The second-highest count after Pokrovsk was in the Kostiantynivka direction, with 22 clashes.

The Pokrovsk direction remained the most intense sector of the front, with 27 Russian assault actions recorded there — the highest number among all listed directions. The Oleksandrivka direction saw two clashes, and the Huliaipole direction three.

The General Staff's report reflects the situation up to the middle of the day cycle; a full 24-hour summary is typically published the following morning.
