Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence (GUR) has released data on the current composition of Russia's strategic bomber fleet. According to the information provided, Russia's air force currently operates 15 Tu-160 aircraft and 47 Tu-95 aircraft.

Combat-ready numbers

Of this total, 13 Tu-160 aircraft and 38 Tu-95 aircraft are considered combat-ready. This indicates that a portion of the fleet is currently undergoing repairs, maintenance, or is otherwise unavailable for combat missions.

About the aircraft types

Both the Tu-160 and Tu-95 are Russian strategic bombers used for long-range missions, including strikes against Ukrainian territory. These aircraft form part of Russia's nuclear triad and are considered key instruments for carrying out long-distance missile strikes.

Ukrainian intelligence regularly monitors the state of Russia's military aviation fleet, and such data helps assess Russia's capacity to conduct further attacks.
