Ukraine's Defence Intelligence agency (GUR) has reported that on September 13 Ukrainian forces struck the "Slavyansk-ECO" oil refinery located in Slavyansk-on-Kuban, in Russia's Krasnodar region.

Details of the strike

According to GUR, the strike was carried out by operators from the Active Operations Department and the Unmanned Systems Department of military intelligence, working together with other defence force units.

The agency claims the strike hit the plant's key oil processing unit as well as its tank farm. A large-scale fire broke out on the refinery's territory following the attack.

GUR stated that smoke and the glow of the fire could reportedly be seen from dozens of kilometers away.

No official comment from the Russian side on the incident has been reported so far.
