Ukrainian Ground Robot Evacuates Wounded After Russian Drone Strike on House
After a Russian FPV drone struck a house, soldiers of Ukraine's K-2 brigade used a ground robot — normally tasked with hauling ammunition and supplies — to carry the wounded to safety.
A ground robot operated by Ukraine's K-2 brigade, which normally transports ammunition and other supplies to the front line, was recently assigned a very different mission.
After a Russian FPV drone struck a building where soldiers were present, the brigade decided to send the unmanned ground vehicle to evacuate the wounded from the damaged house.
According to the K-2 brigade, the robot's task on this occasion was not cargo but people. "Its task is not cargo. Its task is people," the brigade said.
The episode illustrates how Ukraine's military is increasingly relying on ground robots not only for resupply missions but also for dangerous evacuation tasks near the front line, where the presence of soldiers carries heightened risk.
Russian FPV drones have long been regarded as one of the most dangerous threats along the contact line, capable of precisely striking even small targets, including buildings where soldiers are sheltering.
