Ukraine's PM announces cuts to civil servant numbers

Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi has announced a decision to review staffing levels at central executive bodies (CEBs). According to his statement on Telegram, redundant vacant positions will be eliminated, and the number of deputy ministers and deputy heads of CEBs will be reduced.

Analysis before decisions

Koretskyi said that after a detailed analysis, an objective need for staff numbers will be determined based on the real scope of state tasks and functions. The prime minister placed particular focus on education and professional development in public administration, noting that approaches to training civil servants will change to match current state needs.

Responsibility and oversight

Koretskyi added that responsibility for implementing these measures lies with the relevant ministries and central executive bodies, whose heads have already received corresponding instructions. Coordination and oversight of the implementation will be handled by Kostiantyn Marievych, State Secretary of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The prime minister also announced that an analysis of digital governance and automation of internal processes within central executive bodies will be carried out.
