Ukraine's Presidential Office Refuses to Comment on Whether Nawrocki's Decision Affects Zelenskyy's Trip to Poland

On June 19, Polish President Karol Nawrocki decided to revoke the Order of the White Eagle from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The move came after Zelenskyy named a Ukrainian military unit after the "heroes of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army" (UPA).

When asked whether this decision would affect Zelenskyy's planned trip to the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk, scheduled for June 25-26, Presidential Advisor Dmytro Lytvyn simply replied: "No comment."

In response to Nawrocki's action, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced that he would return his own high state award from Poland.

Although Polish sources have indicated that Zelenskyy will still travel to Gdańsk despite the controversy over the UPA heroes, no official confirmation of the president's participation has been issued. It is known that the foreign ministers of Ukraine and Poland will meet in a public discussion in Gdańsk.
