Overnight on June 18, units of the Deep Strike division of Ukraine's Special Operations Forces (SOF), together with the partisan movement 'Black Spark' operating inside Russian territory, attacked the 'Rostovnefteprodukt' oil depot and a fuel base in the city of Gukovo in Russia's Rostov region. According to the SOF, multiple drones reached their targets, resulting in fires and destruction at the facilities. These sites are part of the system for storing, transshipping, and dispatching fuel and petroleum products, including gasoline and diesel.

Separately, during the night of June 18, Ukrainian drones also struck the Moscow Oil Refinery in Kapotnya, triggering a massive fire. Russian media described this attack as the largest in the past two years. It was the second successful strike on a strategic Russian refinery in three days.
