On the night of June 18, units of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (SSO) Deep Strike, in cooperation with the partisan movement 'Black Spark' operating inside Russia, struck the 'Rostovnefteproduct' oil depot and a fuel and lubricants base in the city of Gukovo, Rostov Oblast. Several SSO drones reached their targets, triggering fires and destruction at the facilities. These sites are part of the system for storing, transshipping, and shipping fuel, gasoline, diesel, and other petroleum products.
Earlier that same night, Ukrainian drones also hit the Moscow oil refinery in Kapotnya, sparking a massive fire. Russian media described that attack as the largest in two years. It marked the second successful strike on a strategic Russian refinery in three days.
