Ukrainian Special Forces Drones Strike Tyumen Oil Refinery Despite Anti-Drone Nets

Drones operated by Ukraine's Special Operations Forces (SOF) have struck the Tyumen Oil Refinery again, despite its location more than 2,000 km from the Ukrainian border and its protection with anti-drone netting.

According to the SOF, the drones covered over 2,000 km to reach the target. Key units of the plant were enclosed in anti-drone netting, but that failed to save them. A fire is currently raging on the facility's premises.

The underground resistance movement Chernaya Iskra ("Black Spark") helped facilitate the strike. This is a repeat attack: the first successful strike on the Tyumen refinery occurred on June 20.

The Tyumen Oil Refinery can process up to 9 million tonnes of crude oil per year. Due to its high processing depth, it specializes in producing high-grade petrol and diesel fuel.

Earlier, the Ukrainian president reported that defense forces had struck a Russian military-industrial complex company, an oil refinery in Tyumen, a fuel and lubricants depot, transport vessels, and a warship in the Caspian Sea.
