Ukrainian news portal 'Ukrainska Pravda' has retracted its article published on July 26, which claimed that the new commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mykhailo Drapatyi, had launched an audit of the military. The editorial board admits the information is false, and the error occurred because an editor mistakenly treated a post from what appeared to be Drapatyi's verified social media account as a reliable statement. The retracted article included a quote attributed to Drapatyi stating that his goal was to honestly assess the real state of affairs in every unit and that no one would be 'untouchable'. The portal apologizes to its readers for the mistake. Notably, on July 21, President Zelenskyy dismissed the previous commander-in-chief Oleksandr Syrskyi and appointed Drapatyi to replace him.
