Along a road close to the front line in Ukraine, protective netting has been strung above the roadway to shield passing vehicles from Russian FPV drone strikes. Such netting has become a common sight in many frontline areas as a low-cost defense against drone attacks on traffic.

At some point, a dog became caught in the mesh and was unable to free itself. Ukrainian troops passing by noticed the trapped animal and stopped their journey to help.

The soldiers cut the dog loose from the netting, freeing it unharmed. The brief episode near the front line shows that even amid the demands of war, soldiers took the time to rescue a stray animal caught in a dangerous spot.
