A touching video has been spreading rapidly on social media, capturing the moment Ukrainian soldier Roman Loboda unexpectedly returned home to Yampil from the front line to personally celebrate his daughter Anna's 10th birthday.
The footage shows the girl still asleep in bed wearing a sleep mask when her father quietly enters the room carrying a large bunch of pink flowers. He leans over his daughter and takes her hand. When Anna removes the mask and sees her father, she cannot hold back her emotions, immediately embracing him as tears appear in both their eyes.
The video was shared on Instagram by Roman's wife and Anna's mother, Tetiana, who wrote that there were no words for the moment and that everyone present cried, holding each other in a long embrace.
Serving since 2014
Roman Loboda has been serving at the front since 2014, when Russia annexed the Crimean peninsula. Because of the nature of his service, his family often goes without seeing him in person for six to eight months at a time.
That is why this unexpected visit for his daughter's milestone birthday became an especially meaningful and emotional event for the family.
