Ulefone's new rugged phone comes with a detachable action camera
At IFA 2026 in Berlin, RugOne, part of rugged-phone maker Ulefone, unveiled the Xsnap 7 Pro smartphone featuring a magnetically detachable camera module that doubles as an action cam. The device goes up for Kickstarter preorders in September ahead of a global retail launch.
At the IFA 2026 trade show in Berlin, RugOne — a brand under rugged smartphone maker Ulefone — introduced its newest device, the Xsnap 7 Pro. The phone's standout feature is a magnetically detachable camera module that can be used on its own as a compact action camera.
The detachable camera
The nearly cube-shaped module weighs 39 grams and can capture video at up to 2.7K resolution at 30fps, putting it well below the latest GoPro cameras in raw specs. On a full charge, the unit can record for up to 40 minutes and comes with 64GB of built-in storage. It can stream a live preview to RugOne's companion app from as far as 50 meters away.
The module includes several software features, such as distortion correction, horizon lock, and a Freeframe mode that captures the entire sensor area, letting users crop footage to vertical or horizontal orientation afterward. It's waterproof to five meters without any extra protective casing. RugOne also bundles a magnetic pendant for wearing the camera on the body, and it's compatible with third-party mounts that use a universal standard.
The phone itself
Beyond the removable camera, the Xsnap 7 Pro has a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization and a 64-megapixel infrared night-vision camera with IR LEDs for black-and-white detail in low light.
The phone features a 6.67-inch display with peak brightness of 1,700 nits and refresh rates up to 120Hz, powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8400 chipset. On durability, it carries IP68 and IP69K ratings, can withstand submersion up to two meters deep for 30 minutes, and survives 1.5-meter drops onto concrete.
A prototype was previously shown at MWC 2026, but the Xsnap 7 Pro is making its official debut at IFA. Kickstarter preorders open on September 7 at a discounted price of 799 euros (roughly $930). A wider retail launch is planned for next month via Amazon and RugOne's own store, priced at $999 and available in Sand Dune and Classic Black color options.
