Hungary's OTP Group to Acquire Luminor Bank

Hungarian banking group OTP Group will acquire Luminor Bank, one of the largest banks in Latvia, marking its entry into the Baltic market.

Hungary's Országos Takarék Pénztár (OTP Bank) has announced the acquisition of Luminor Bank, according to a statement released by Luminor.

With this deal, OTP Group enters the Baltic market for the first time. Luminor is one of the largest banks in Latvia and a significant financial player in Estonia and Lithuania. The purchase price and other terms have not been disclosed.

The acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the coming months.
