Hungarian Prime Minister Supports Lowering Voting Age to 16
Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar has expressed support for lowering the voting age to 16, stating that most young people are prepared and informed enough to participate in decision-making.

Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar announced on Saturday via Facebook that he supports lowering the voting age to 16. He expressed satisfaction that politics and public life have become attractive again, and that young people finally feel they have a say in common affairs.
Magyar stated that the majority of individuals under 18 are sufficiently prepared and knowledgeable to take part in collective decision-making. He noted that during the constitutional drafting process, he would advocate for reducing the voting age to 16.
Earlier, Magyar declared that Hungary plans to broaden the corporate tax base by abolishing the "selective" taxes from the era of his predecessor Viktor Orbán. Additionally, he revealed that an investigation is underway concerning former Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó's ties with Russia, but no details will be disclosed at this time.
