Usyk Predicts Joshua Will Defeat Fury
Oleksandr Usyk, Anthony Joshua's sparring partner, believes Joshua will beat Tyson Fury in the potential fight. He made this prediction after Joshua's win over Kristian Prenga.
On Sunday night, Anthony Joshua fought his first bout since a serious car accident in Nigeria. He knocked out 35-year-old Albanian boxer Kristian Prenga in the second round. Although the result looks impressive, Joshua was knocked down multiple times in the first round, raising doubts among fans and pundits about his ability at the highest level.
Oleksandr Usyk, who regularly trains with Joshua, has a different opinion. After Sunday's fight, Usyk expressed confidence that Joshua would also defeat Tyson Fury. "AJ will fight the greedy belly and win another victory," Usyk was quoted as saying.
A day before Joshua's bout, Fury had his own "warm-up" fight, stopping 46-year-old Polish boxer Mariusz Wach by technical knockout. Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn has previously announced that an agreement for a fight against Fury has been reached, but no further details about the long-awaited British boxing superfight have been revealed. It is estimated that the duel could take place later this year.
