Former EP election candidate who fled to Russia films video praising Moscow train station toilets

A woman named Olga Čerņavska, who previously lived in Latvia as a homemaker and once ran as a candidate in European Parliament elections on the Jaunlatvieši Union (Jaunlatviešu apvienība) list, has relocated to Russia. In videos posted on social media, she now regularly shares her impressions of life there, including the state of public restrooms.

In one recent video, Čerņavska filmed herself inside a Russian train station, highlighting its amenities — stairs, lighting, clocks and elevators. She directly contrasts these features with Riga Central Station, claiming that the cleanliness and comfort she found in Russia are things Latvians could not even imagine.

In the video, she also described other parts of the station in detail — a flower shop, archways, light fixtures, a clock, a street exit, and the presence of security staff. Her commentary conveys enthusiasm about the surroundings, which she contrasts with her previous life in Latvia, addressing remarks toward what she calls Latvian "turbo-patriots."

The post drew reactions from Latvian internet users in the comments, who ironically suggested Čerņavska film and show the state of restrooms in other, less prominent Russian regions, noting the situation there would likely differ significantly from what she showed at the capital's train station.
