According to Volodymyr Tymoshko, Head of Chernihiv Oblast National Police, the Russian drone that attacked the ATB supermarket on the afternoon of 26 July was a jet-powered Geran-4 equipped with a video camera. This information comes from preliminary findings of the police bomb disposal service.

Tymoshko stated that the strike on the civilian facility was deliberate, aiming to cause maximum casualties. He said: "This indicates that it's not a military action, it's an act of terrorism, an act of their senseless hatred towards everything connected with Ukraine, particularly their hatred towards any person, including civilians."

The police chief also confirmed two other Russian drone strikes in Chernihiv. According to the Chernihiv City Council press service, at one location a garage and a car were damaged, while at another, three cars caught fire.

Earlier reports confirmed that the drone attack on the ATB supermarket killed two people, including a child, and injured 20 others.
