Germany's embassy in Kyiv announced on Saturday that it had transferred specialized equipment to the Kyiv region's emergency rescue service, intended to speed up the response to the consequences of Russian attacks, according to Yevropeiska Pravda.

According to the embassy, Germany handed over a fire truck equipped with an extendable ladder, along with a truck fitted with a crane manipulator. Both vehicles are meant for use by the Kyiv region's emergency rescue service.

The embassy explained that the new equipment will allow rescuers to react more quickly to emergency situations and more effectively deal with the aftermath of Russian strikes.

Additional support for energy sector

The equipment transfer follows other recent German support measures for Ukraine. On September 3, it became known that Germany's Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy was allocating around 250 million euros for urgent repair work at Ukrainian energy infrastructure facilities ahead of winter.

Separately, at the end of August, the Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions received new shipments of critical energy equipment from Lithuania.
