Greece shock Germany with away win in Nations League
Germany suffered a surprise 0:1 home defeat to Greece in the Nations League's top division, while Portugal, Denmark and Ireland also picked up wins elsewhere.
Jürgen Klopp's Germany suffered an unexpected home loss, falling 0:1 to Greece, a side that only recently returned to the Nations League's top tier. Greece began their comeback campaign with a win away to Serbia in Belgrade and carried that momentum into Germany.
Klopp made five changes to his starting eleven, but the reshuffle did not pay off. In the first half neither debutant Bambasè Konté nor forward Karim Adeyemi could convert their chances. Germany dominated possession and territory but lacked incisiveness in the final third, while Greece looked dangerous on the counter. In the 74th minute, a deflection off Joshua Kimmich fell to Dimitris Kourbelis, who fired past goalkeeper Alexander Nübel to put Greece ahead. The hosts failed to find an equaliser before full time.

Elsewhere in League A, Portugal withstood heavy pressure from the hosts (22 shots to 12) to beat Norway 2:1 in Oslo. João Félix opened the scoring, and after Erling Haaland equalised, Gonçalo Ramos netted the winner following a mistake by goalkeeper Ørjan Nyland. Haaland has now scored in 16 of his last 17 national team appearances, while Cristiano Ronaldo, who featured in the earlier win over Wales, was left out of the squad this time. Serbia lost 1:2 at home to the Netherlands, and Denmark beat Wales 2:0.
In League B, Ireland thrashed Israel 3:0 in Hungary, with all three goals scored within the match's opening quarter-hour. Ahead of the fixture, goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu, who plays for Bolton, withdrew from selection for both matches against Israel in protest against the situation in Gaza. Austria also defeated Kosovo, while Lithuania and Azerbaijan drew.
