German border police conducted an intensified traffic check on July 1 on the A3 highway near Passau. During the operation, officers stopped a 40-year-old Serbian citizen driving a Lamborghini Urus with German license plates. The man was in possession of tens of thousands of euros in cash and two luxury watches worth more than €100,000. Unable to provide proof of origin for these items, police confiscated the car, cash, and watches. An investigation for suspected money laundering has been initiated against him.

Shortly after, police also inspected an Audi and discovered a valuable silver coin collection. The owner could not justify its origin, leading to its confiscation and another money laundering investigation.

During the raid, two arrest warrants were executed. In one case, the driver avoided arrest by paying a fine. Meanwhile, a 24-year-old Romanian citizen was found to have a fake driver's license; he now faces criminal charges for document forgery and driving without a valid license.

In total, the multi-hour operation recorded six criminal offenses and five individuals on the wanted list. Such intensified checks on the A3 highway near the Austrian border are conducted regularly to combat cross-border crime.
