Police in the German state of Lower Saxony are conducting an operation at an electrical substation in Ganderkesee, near Bremen, after a suspicious object was discovered there. Ukrainska Pravda reported the news via European Pravda, citing the German outlet Bild.

Emergency services cordoned off a large area around the site in the Oldenburg district, and a police helicopter has also been deployed over the location. Police initially described only "suspicious circumstances," but by morning it had become increasingly clear that there was no immediate danger.

Police spokeswoman Ronja Weser confirmed that an object requiring police investigation had been found, and that a helicopter was called in to survey the site from the air. She declined to specify exactly what had been discovered on the premises or whether any damage had occurred, but confirmed that, according to current police information, no fire had broken out. The operation is still ongoing.

Similar incidents elsewhere in Germany

A passerby also found a suspicious object near an electrical substation in the German city of Dormagen, located between Cologne and Düsseldorf, where police suspect an attempted act of sabotage. Two days earlier, an incident occurred at a substation in Bergheim, west of Cologne, and there was also an attempt to damage a power facility in Brandenburg.
