Germany records record heat of 41.3°C
Germany has recorded its highest ever temperature of 41.3°C. The UK and France also saw heat records.

The German Meteorological Service (DWD) reported that a temperature of 41.3 degrees Celsius was measured late in the afternoon at the Saarbrücken-Burbach weather station – the highest ever recorded in the country. The previous record of 41.2°C was set on July 25, 2019 in Tönisvorst and Duisburg-Baerl in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Other hot spots included Bad Kreuznach in Rhineland-Palatinate and Kitzingen in Bavaria, where temperatures reached 40.7°C. All data are preliminary and may be adjusted.
In the UK, a new June temperature record was set on Friday, with 36.9°C registered in eastern England. June 23-24 were the hottest days on record for the country.
In France, the heat began to recede from western areas from the evening of June 25, but more than 60 departments remain under red alert.
