German band H-BLOCKX to play first-ever Riga show in March

H-BLOCKX, one of the most influential German alternative rock and nu-metal bands of the 1990s, will play its first-ever concert in Riga on March 10, 2026, at the Palladium concert hall. The live show will feature well-known tracks such as "Risin' High," "Move," and "Little Girl."
The concert won't be limited to nostalgia — this year, after a fourteen-year break, H-BLOCKX released a new album, "FILLIN_THE_BLANK," which reached number three on the German album charts, the band's highest chart position to date.
Band history
H-BLOCKX formed in Münster in the early 1990s, with their breakthrough coming in 1994 with the release of their debut album "Time to Move." The band's sound blends alternative rock and metal with rap elements. Music videos for "Risin' High" and "Move" received regular MTV rotation.
"Time to Move" became the band's biggest commercial success, spending 62 weeks on the German charts and selling more than 750,000 copies worldwide. In 1995, H-BLOCKX was nominated for an MTV Europe Music Award in the Best New Act category. Over a career spanning more than three decades, the band has released albums including "Discover My Soul," "Fly Eyes," "Get in the Ring," and "No Excuses," and toured extensively across Europe.
New material after years away
The push for new music followed a tour marking the 30th anniversary of "Time to Move," during which the band rediscovered the impulse to create original material again. "FILLIN_THE_BLANK," released on March 6 this year, is the band's first studio album in fourteen years. It combines the group's signature guitar riffs with a more contemporary sound, with lyrics touching on addiction, guilt, and insecurity.
