DHL Acquires Baltic Parcel Delivery Group Venipak
German logistics giant DHL has agreed to acquire Venipak, a parcel delivery group operating in the Baltic states and Poland. The deal value was not disclosed and is subject to regulatory approval.
German postal and logistics giant DHL, which operates in Lithuania, announced on Monday that it has reached an agreement to acquire Venipak, a parcel delivery group active in the Baltic states and Poland. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition includes Venipak's companies in Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia, allowing DHL to establish its own local logistics network across the Baltic region, according to DHL Group and Venipak. Subject to regulatory approval, DHL will acquire all shares in Venipak from its founder Nerijus Raudonis and integrate the business into its DHL eCommerce division. Venipak CEO Andrius Ladauskas stated: "We will preserve what Venipak is valued for today in the Baltic states – speed, flexibility and close relationships with customers – while opening up access to one of the world's largest logistics networks." Pablo Ciano, CEO of DHL eCommerce, explained the company was seeking a partner with strong local market knowledge, customer trust, and growth ambitions: "The Baltic states are currently one of the fastest-growing e-commerce regions in Europe, so we were looking for a partner that understands the local market, has earned customers’ trust and has the ambition to grow. Venipak joins DHL Group as one of the strongest independent logistics companies in the Baltic states." Venipak will continue operating under its existing brand, with a gradual integration into DHL's logistics network. The management team and employees will remain unchanged. Over the next two years, DHL plans to invest in Venipak's employees, expand its parcel locker network, increase sorting capacity at key terminals, and upgrade IT infrastructure.
