Several people have been injured at a Berlin Pride event after reports that a vehicle drove into a crowd in the city centre, police said. An intensive manhunt is currently under way, and authorities urged people to avoid the area.
The injured are being treated by emergency services near Tiergarten park, where the incident took place. The annual Pride event, Christopher Street Day, has been cancelled.
Police posted on social media that a vehicle entered Tiergarten park and hit several people, injuring them. Images show a large emergency services presence at the scene, with one person seen entering an ambulance on a stretcher.
It is not yet clear how many people have been injured. A number of police officers as well as rescue units from the fire department have been deployed to the area. Earlier on Saturday, huge crowds took part in a parade throughout the city, which ended near the park for a series of events in the evening.
