Vaisjūns and Kozlova win three golds each at Latvian youth athletics championships
Over the weekend, the Latvian U18, U20 and U23 athletics championships took place in Riga, with Adrians Vaisjūns and Ksenija Kozlova becoming triple champions, while no national records were set.

On Friday and Saturday, the Daugava Stadium in Riga hosted the Latvian youth championships for three age groups. Winners were determined in 111 events, with 16 athletes achieving the best results of the season.
The most successful participants were Adrians Vaisjūns of the Riga sports school "Arkādija" in the U18 category and Ksenija Kozlova representing Augšdaugava region in the U20 category – each won three gold medals. Vaisjūns triumphed in the 800m, 1500m and 3000m, while Kozlova dominated the 200m, 400m and 400m hurdles.
Despite strong winds preventing legal results, several athletes performed at a high level. Viks Viljams Donis from Talsi jumped 7.55m in the long jump, but the wind reading exceeded the allowable limit, so Dainis Bērziņš's youth record from 1983 remains unbroken.
The championships did not feature any age-group national records, but many young athletes posted their best seasonal results. Notable performances include Toms Samauskis's shot put of 16.70m, Ralfs Dzosens's 3000m steeplechase of 9:31.38, and Arkādija's win in the U18 4x100m relay.
