Government to announce open competition for head of Latvia's anti-corruption bureau
Latvia's Cabinet of Ministers decided on August 18 to launch an open competition for the post of head of the Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB). The position became vacant after former chief Jekabs Straume retired.

Latvia's Cabinet of Ministers decided on Tuesday, August 18, to announce an open competition for the position of head of the Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau, known as KNAB.
The post became vacant after the bureau's previous chief, Jekabs Straume, left to retire under his years-of-service pension entitlement.
With the competition now set to be announced, the process of selecting and appointing a new head of KNAB will begin.
