The Cabinet of Ministers of Latvia decided on Tuesday not to give the green light to a wind power plant park proposed by the company SIA «K2 Ventum» in the Saka parish of Dienvidkurzeme municipality, an area near the town of Pāvilosta on Latvia's western coast.

Along with the wind farm itself, the government also rejected the accompanying plan to build a power transmission grid connection for the project, which was intended to span both the Dienvidkurzeme and Kuldīga municipalities.

With this decision, the Cabinet has effectively blocked the company from proceeding with the project as originally envisioned in that area.
