Government convenes crisis meeting over destructive storm's aftermath

Latvia was hit by a powerful storm over the weekend of August 22–23, 2026, causing considerable damage across the country. To coordinate the response of state and municipal services in addressing the aftermath, the Cabinet of Ministers convened a crisis management meeting.
