Valdis Kalniņš, who is already well-known from the senior Latvian national handball team, has been included in the U-20 squad for the upcoming European Elite Division Championship. This tournament is a crucial step towards the World Championship, which will take place next year.

Kalniņš recently returned from Norway, where he moved for work. In an interview with Latvian Television, the handball player emphasized that the team's goal is to qualify for the World Championship. He expressed confidence in the team's abilities and stated that Latvia is not a team that would give in to competitors like Spain.

The U-20 team is preparing intensively for the tournament, and Kalniņš's experience at the senior level could be a valuable asset. The young handball players will strive to achieve high results to secure a spot in the World Championship.
