The neighboring town of Valga traditionally hosts a mass run called "Valga–Valka" at the start of September, drawing participation from schoolchildren and active-lifestyle adults from Valka as well. Next Friday, September 11, the event will take place for the 29th time.

Children's races

The children's races begin at 3 p.m., when first-graders take the start over a 250-meter course. Students from grades 2 to 6 will run in their respective class groups over a 1,250-meter distance. Participation in the children's races is free of charge.

Advance registration for young participants can be completed online. On the day of the event, sign-ups will also be accepted on-site between 2 p.m. and 2:50 p.m., at the rescue station of the Valga swimming facility on Perve Street.

Main race

The main race for adults starts at 6 p.m., covering a distance of 4,400 meters. Online registration must be completed by 10 a.m. on September 11, and pre-registered participants pay a lower fee than those signing up on the day. Payment is made at the starting point when collecting the participant's race number.

Those who have not registered in advance will also have the option to do so on the day of the event, right at the starting location near the rescue station of the Valga swimming facility.
