The women's choir "Ziemeļstīga" of Valka municipality is welcoming new members throughout September during its regular rehearsals. Rehearsals are held on Mondays at 18:30 at the Valka Municipality Culture Centre, with the first rehearsal of the new season taking place on September 7.
A strong past season
The choir's previous season was notably successful. At the Latvian Amateur Choir Review, "Ziemeļstīga" achieved the highest category, marking the best result in the choir's 15-year history. The ensemble also received the award for best choir in the Vidzeme region at the "Manai Dzimtenei" competition.
Anniversary and Song Festival ahead
The upcoming season promises to be eventful as well: the choir will celebrate its 15th anniversary and begin preparations for the next national Song Festival. Choir conductor Karīna Pundzjus and the ensemble are inviting anyone interested to join, noting that prior singing experience is not essential — what matters most is the desire to sing, be part of a community, and enjoy music together.
