Four lost boaters rescued at night in Valka region
Late Saturday evening, firefighters rescued four people who had gotten lost while boating on a river in Zvārtavas parish, Valka region. The operation lasted until 1:30 a.m.
Rescue in Zvārtavas parish
Around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, the State Fire and Rescue Service received a call from Zvārtavas parish in Valka region. A boat with four people had become lost on the river, and they could not reach the shore on their own. Rescuers found the individuals, brought them to shore, and handed them over to emergency medical personnel. The operation concluded around 1:30 a.m.
Other water rescues
On the same day, firefighters responded to two other water incidents. In Engure parish, Tukums region, a person was rescued from the sea after drifting too far from shore on a wakeboard and being unable to return. Volunteer firefighters from Engure also assisted. In Ādaži region, strong winds blew a boat with two people far from the shore of a lake. Firefighters safely brought them back.
