Acting Head of State Chancellery Gailīte Earned Nearly €90,000 Last Year

Inese Gailīte, who serves as acting director of the State Chancellery, earned €89,007 in salary last year, a 12% rise compared to the previous year, as disclosed in her state official declaration.
In addition to her salary, Gailīte, who is also deputy director for legal affairs and head of the Legal Department, received €329 in compensation, €120 from the State Revenue Service, and a €50 insurance payout from "Gjensidige".
The declaration shows that Gailīte owns real estate in Mārupe and has non-cash savings of €69,294. Her total liabilities amount to €120,891.
Earlier it was reported that the previous State Chancellery director, Raivis Kronbergs, was detained in mid-May in connection with the so-called timber industry case. After being suspended, he agreed to leave the post.
The competition for the new State Chancellery director, announced on May 29, ended after the first round, where the commission evaluated submitted documents and candidates' compliance. Until a new director is appointed, Gailīte will continue in the acting role.
