Valve has opened reservations for its long-awaited Steam Machine and revealed pricing. The 512GB variant costs $1,049 and does not include the new Steam Controller. A bundle with the controller costs $1,128, offering a $21 discount compared to the controller's standalone price of $99. However, ordering the controller separately may result in delivery delays until 2027, as Valve is prioritizing bundles with the Steam Machine.

A 2TB option is available for $1,349 alone, or $1,428 with the controller. These versions come with red fabric and solid walnut faceplates.

To purchase a Steam Machine from the first batch, interested users must enter a lottery. Requirements include a Steam account in good standing and at least one purchase on the platform before April 27. Registration runs until 1 PM ET on June 25. After the deadline, Valve will randomly select participants, and those in the reservation queue will receive emails with purchase options starting June 29. Others will be placed on a waitlist.

Valve explained that this system is designed to prevent bots and scalpers from gaining an advantage, as opposed to a traditional instant launch. Reservation lists are separate for North America, UK/EU, and Australia. Komodo will handle sales in Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. The Steam Machine will not ship to South Korea.

All Steam Machine configurations share the same specs except storage: a semi-custom AMD Zen 4 6C/12T CPU, AMD RDNA3 28CUs GPU, 16GB DDR5 RAM, and 8GB GDDR6 VRAM. Storage is expandable via microSD. Ports include two USB 2.0, two USB 3.2 Gen 1, one USB-C, DisplayPort 1.4, and HDMI 2.0. It supports Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6E, and features an integrated 2.4GHz adapter for the Steam Controller. The device is a cube measuring approximately six inches on each side.

There is still no word on the Steam Frame's availability, but Valve confirmed it will launch this summer as well.
