Valve's Steam Machine ships June 29 for $1,049, but you probably won't be able to buy one yet
Valve's Steam Machine launches June 29 at $1,049, but due to component shortages, availability will be limited via a randomized reservation system.

Valve has announced that the long-awaited Steam Machine will go on sale June 29 for $1,049. However, due to the global shortage of memory and storage components, the company struggled to source necessary parts, impacting the number of units available. To combat resellers and ensure fairness, Valve will use a randomized reservation system.
To participate, interested buyers must sign up by Thursday, June 25, at 10 am Pacific. Anyone with a valid Steam account and a purchase made before April 27, 2026, is eligible, with a limit of one per household. After reservations close, all entries will undergo a one-time randomization to create the final waitlist order.
On June 25, Valve will email all reservation holders with results. Lucky recipients will be told they are in the "Reservation queue," meaning a unit from the initial batch is allocated and will ship as soon as ready. Others will be added to a waitlist and contacted for future batches. The first shipments are expected on June 29, with shipping continuing as units become available.
