Vanemuine's 16th Summer Concert Draws Thousands in Tartu

The Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra held its 16th annual summer concert in Tartu's Kassitoome Valley on Sunday, drawing thousands of spectators. For the first time, the program included a ballet performance.

Concert in Kassitoome Valley

The Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra performed its summer concert for the 16th consecutive year in Tartu's Kassitoome Valley on the last Sunday of July. The event attracted thousands of attendees.

Six soloists shared the stage with the orchestra at the invitation of Risto Joost, the Vanemuine's music director and chief conductor. Performers included Ain Anger, Kristjan Häggblom, Rael Rent, Tuule-Helin Krigul, Aleksander Traksmann, Karl Laanekask, along with conductor Risto Joost and host Tanel Jonas.

Ballet Debut

This year's concert featured a ballet performance for the first time, with dancers Jevgeni Grib and Ketlin Oja.

A recording of the concert will be broadcast on Estonian Television on August 8 at 9:35 p.m.
