Families Invited to Take Train Trips Along Routes Inspired by Film 'The Happy Ones' This Summer
Routes based on director Edmunds Jansons' new animated film 'The Happy Ones' will be available in seven Latvian towns all summer, encouraging families to travel by train.

The film studio "Atom Art", in cooperation with AS "Pasažieru vilciens" (brand "Vivi") and seven municipalities, has created special routes inspired by director Edmunds Jansons' upcoming animated film "The Happy Ones". These routes will be available throughout the summer, offering families with children the opportunity to take day trips by train.
The routes have been developed in Sigulda, Cēsis, Valmiera, Jūrmala, Ogre, Jelgava, and Carnikava. Each tourist center features ideas for walks, including sightseeing spots, playgrounds, nature trails, cafes, and other activities suitable for children of different ages.
"The Happy Ones" is a co-production between Latvia, Poland, and the Czech Republic. Its world premiere will take place at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France, where it will be shown as part of the "Annecy Presents" program. The film will premiere in Latvia on August 20.
The plot follows nine-year-old Elizabeth, who goes to her family in the Venezuelan rainforest during school break. While her parents go to town, Elizabeth is tasked with watching her younger brother Leo. But when she gets absorbed in reading books, she doesn't notice Leo disappearing into the jungle, forcing her to go and rescue him.
The film's creative team includes director Edmunds Jansons, screenwriters Lote Eglīte and Līga Gaisa, artist Elīna Brasliņa, and others. Main voice roles are performed by Matīss Budovskis, Madara Botmane-Vāgentroca, Jānis Kronis, and Toms Liepājnieks, with 11-year-old Anabella Jasmīna Gerinoviča voicing Elizabeth. The film is produced by "Atom Art" in collaboration with partners from Poland and the Czech Republic.
