“Summer Horizon”: Estonian Orthodox Church, Medieval Days in Tallinn, and Tourism in Heat
The upcoming “Summer Horizon” program will cover the situation of the Estonian Orthodox Christian Church, the Medieval Days in Tallinn, and tourism opportunities during the heatwave.

Estonian public broadcaster ERR will air the next episode of “Summer Horizon” on Tuesday, July 14, addressing several current topics.
One of the main issues is the Estonian Orthodox Christian Church (EOCC), which has been given six months by the Ministry of the Interior to align its activities with new legislation and sever ties with the Moscow Patriarchate. Bishop Daniil and sworn attorney Artur Knyazev will share their views on the church’s future.
The program will also discuss the International Olympic Committee’s decision to allow Russian athletes to compete despite the ongoing war in Ukraine. ERR sports journalist Adrian Cheremenin will offer his opinion.
For the cultural segment, reporter Artur Tyulenev visits the Medieval Days in Tallinn’s Old Town to show viewers how 15th-century residents lived, what they wore, and what traditions they kept.
Additionally, as Europe experiences an extreme heatwave this summer, many tourists are seeking refuge in countries with milder climates. The show will explore whether Estonia can profitably market its coolness to foreign visitors, with input from the head of the Tallinn Guild of Guides, Elena Matoyan.
“Summer Horizon” airs on weekdays at 8:20 PM on ETV+.
