Vasco won the first leg 1-0 at São Januário, then held on in the away leg at Vitória's Barradão stadium to confirm qualification under coach Pedro Emanuel, according to ge.globo.

Vasco will face Palmeiras in the semifinals, played over two legs, home and away, with the winner advancing to the Copa do Brasil final. This marks Vasco's third consecutive semifinal appearance in the competition — last year, in 2025, the club reached the final but finished as runner-up.

Prize money

Reaching the semifinal brings Vasco an additional R$9 million in prize money. Combined with earlier rounds — R$2 million for eliminating Paysandu in the fifth round and R$3 million for knocking out Fluminense in the round of 16 — the club's total earnings from this campaign have reached R$18 million, per ge.globo.

According to Terra Esportes, all eight quarterfinalists — Atlético-MG, Cruzeiro, Internacional, Grêmio, Palmeiras, Santos, Vasco and Vitória — received R$4 million each simply for reaching the quarterfinals. The quarterfinal pairings were Grêmio vs Internacional, Atlético-MG vs Cruzeiro, Vitória vs Vasco, and Santos vs Palmeiras.

How much will the champion earn?

Brazil's football confederation, CBF, is set to distribute around R$500 million in total prize money for the tournament. Sources differ slightly on the maximum amount the eventual champion could collect: ge.globo puts the figure at up to R$96 million, while Terra Esportes reports R$91 million, which includes R$34 million for winning the final alone. The runner-up, according to Terra, stands to collect R$47 million.
