Football club Liepāja and Estonian coach Vasiljev have ended their partnership, with his spell as head coach lasting just under three months.

Vasiljev joined the team on June 1, replacing Swedish coach Andreas Alm. During his time in charge, Liepāja played 11 matches in the Latvian championship, winning five and losing six. In his final match at the helm, the team suffered a 0:1 defeat to Auda.

European campaign

On the international stage, Vasiljev's side defeated Montenegrin club Decic in UEFA Conference League qualifying, but were subsequently eliminated by Austria Wien in the next round.

League standing

In the current Virslīga table, Liepāja sit fifth with 37 points from 27 matches, trailing the top three by 15 points.

The club's next fixture is set for August 30, when they host Riga at home. It is not yet known who will lead the team as head coach for that match.
