State Security Service: signals of unlawful voter influence not yet confirmed
Latvia's State Security Service says it received reports of possible vote buying and other illegal attempts to influence voters before and during election day, but no violations have been confirmed so far.

Latvia's State Security Service (VDD) has received a number of signals pointing to possible illegal attempts to influence voters, spanning the pre-election period and continuing up until 9:00 on election day. The agency shared this information with the news agency LETA.
According to the VDD, the reports concern suspected vote buying as well as other unlawful methods that may have been used to sway voters' choices. However, the service stressed that none of these signals has so far developed into a confirmed legal violation — no specific breaches have been established at this point.
The VDD did not provide further detail on the source of the signals, how many were received, or in which regions they were recorded. It also did not say whether any additional checks or investigations are underway in connection with the reports.
Concerns about voter influence and vote buying tend to resurface periodically around election time in Latvia, with responsible authorities, including the State Security Service, monitoring the situation to help ensure the legality and fairness of the electoral process.
