Young man beaten in Old Riga, police seek witnesses
State Police have launched a criminal investigation into a nighttime assault on a young man on Grēcinieku Street in Old Riga, appealing to witnesses and anyone who can help identify those involved.

Latvia's State Police have opened a criminal case over a violent incident that occurred overnight on September 12 in Old Riga, in which a young man sustained bodily injuries. The incident took place on Grēcinieku Street 11A at approximately 2:44 a.m.
The victim was injured during the altercation. To establish the full circumstances and identify those who may have been involved in the offense, police have turned to the public for assistance.
Appeal for witnesses
Investigators have released photographs and video footage showing both people who may have witnessed the incident and individuals who could be connected to the crime itself. Police are asking anyone who recognizes the people shown, or who has information about their whereabouts, to come forward.
Information can be reported by calling the Riga Eastern Administration's duty office or the general emergency number, as well as by writing to the email address provided by police.
Police stressed that none of the individuals whose identities have not yet been established are automatically considered guilty — guilt can only be determined through the legally prescribed procedure.
